live painting
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my many years a muralist, it’s that people love watching a painting come to life! I recently added live event painting to my tool belt, and have been enjoying bringing the same joy to people at events by providing entertainment through live painting. Having a live painter at your event, whether it’s a charity event, corporate event, or even a personal one, can bring some fun, unique entertainment for all of your guests to enjoy! Below I have added a but more information about the process of hiring a live painter, as well as a bit more information about what happens before, during, and after the event.

live painting: Info & questions
Like I mentioned above, having a live painter at your event can make it very unique and memorable, and provide both a source of entertainment and a stunning product for your guests to oogle at. Events like charitable fundraisers, community gatherings, public events, corporate events, parties, conferences, and more can really benefit from some big paintin’ energy! Below are a few tid bits of information if you’re considering bringing me on!
Once you have the groundwork for your event and you know that a live painter will give it the perfect sparkle, you can reach out to me directly through the form on the contact page. Answer a few questions about your event and what you might be looking for, and once a deposit is paid, I will go ahead and send over 2-3 rough sketches of ideas for the painting (sketched up roughly on my iPad). Once we have a direction we like, I will create a slightly more detailed sketch, transfer it to canvas (or mural panels), and have it prepped and ready to go on the big day!
how do I hire you?
•
I will typically arrive at least an hour before the event so that I have time to prep my space and supplies, and we can pick the best place to display the piece. I’ll get set up and start painting just before guests arrive (unless there is a specified start time) and continue to paint for the duration of the event, or hours booked. I adore chatting with people while I work, so people are encouraged to come over and interact! Typically, the goal is to reach about 70%-75% completion by the end of the event so that the piece can be “finished” for all to see. After the event, I will take the piece home and add finishing touches, signatures, and a clear coat before delivering it back in tip top shape. If the piece is a freestanding mural as opposed to a canvas painting, those can be wrapped up on site to cut back on movement. I am also willing to do events that last more than one day!
how do the events work?
•
Once the painting is wrapped up, ownership passes to the client, so it is yours to do with what you will! A few ideas from past event:
Give is as a one of a kind gift to a friend, colleagues, or event donor
Donate the piece to a local business or charity
Auction it off at the end of the event as a fundraiser
Keep it and display it in your home or office
what happens to the painting afterwards?
•
how much is this going to cost?
•
Pricing is based on the size of the painting, level of detail, and the size and length of the event.
(See pricing information)
If discussed ahead of time, a design can be created for guests to participate, but if and ONLY if discussed ahead of time! Paint can be…messy, and to spare the guests and venues from looking like a Jackson Pollock, certain preparations need to be made!
Can guests participate?
•
I do! I am more than happy to travel for events. I love bringing my work on the road and exploring new places! If the event is more than 2 hours away, I will have to charge an additional travel fee to cover travel costs.
Do you travel for events?

Is there any event you won’t paint?
•
At this point, I don’t do live wedding paintings of couples, and because of the supplies I use it’s tricky to do any children’s birthday parties.
